Solicitor who borrowed €27k from elderly woman who cares for husband and another adult is struck off
A solicitor who has not fully repaid a €27,000 sum borrowed by him from an elderly client who is in difficult circumstances has been struck off the roll of solicitors by order of the High Court.
Findings of professional misconduct were made in 2017 against Paul Cunningham concerning that loan; his failure to pay a firm of actuaries a sum of €5,000 due to them for work done for another client; and failure to comply with his undertaking to register a charge in favour of a bank.
