Latest: Cork County Council have said they are erecting a number of flood barriers after heavy rains last night.

Update 13.10: Cork County Council have said they are erecting a number of flood barriers after heavy rains last night.

In a statement, they said: "There has been very significant rainfall overnight last night, with 73mm (almost 3 inches) in the North West of county and 49mm (almost 2 inches) in Mallow.
