Revenue seize contraband cigarettes worth €11k in Dublin

Revenue officers have seize contraband cigarettes in a house in Dublin.

The officers seized 20,000 unstamped cigarettes in an intelligence led operation yesterday when they searched the house in the Dublin 7 area.

The contraband cigarettes, branded ‘Excellence’, have an estimated retail value of more than €11,000 representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than €8,800.

A woman in her 40s was questioned by Revenue officers and investigations are continuing.
