Dublin Bus drivers forced to urinate in bottles while working, union claims

It is being claimed some Dublin Bus drivers have had to urinate in bottles on the job.

The company is being asked to provide toilets for staff along routes, as many of them have become longer.

The National Bus and Rail Union has called for a meeting to discuss a range of options to help drivers.

Spokesperson Dermot O'Leary says staff are continuing to be caught short.

"Use your imagination. There have been newspaper headlines about people having to resort to bottles and the like," he said.

"Unless something happens or some commitment is given we're going to have a situation where bus drivers will divert back to their own depots to use the facilities."
