A man is due to appear at Longford District Court this morning in connection with a number of alleged sex offences at a Midlands GAA grounds.

The man was arrested as part of a Garda investigation into allegations of distribution of child abuse images as well as an alleged sexual assault.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
