Latest: Gardaí check 100,000 vehicles so far today; 170 caught speeding

Gardaí are reminding us that 188 people died on our roads in 2016.

Update 8.26pm: Almost 100,000 vehicles have been checked for speeding today.

National Slow down day will continue until 7am tomorrow morning and Gardaí say they will be out in force to reduce the number of speed-related collisions on our country's roads.
