Man due in court following armed robbery in Limerick

A man in his 30s has been arrested after a robbery in Limerick on Thursday.

The incident happened on Thomas Street where a man armed with a large knife entered a shop and threatened a female shop assistant at around 11am.

The raider left the shop with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He is expected to appear before Limerick District Court this morning charged in connection with the robbery.
