Horse racing mogul JP McManus has spoken for the first time about his "dream" of bringing the prestigious Ryder Cup golf tournament to Adare, Co Limerick, writes David Raleigh.

McManus, from rural Martinstown, near Kilmallock, hopes to beat off stiff competition from across Europe to host the biennial tournament between golf's elite players from Europe and the United States in 2026.
