Revenue officers at Dublin Port have seized 786 litres of wine after they stopped and searched a Transit van.

The van had arrived from France via Holyhead yesterday.

Revenue said that the smuggled red and white wines have a retail value of around €11,000 and would have meant a loss to the Exchequer of around €5,400.

Investigations are ongoing.
