Gardaí have arrested two men during raids on 11 premises in connection with an organised crime investigation in Limerick.

The officers from the Criminal Assets Bureau, and local Gardaí, carried out the searches today as part of CAB's Operation Oakleaf, which is investigating an organised crime gang in Rathkeale, Co Limerick.

They searched seven houses and four other premises in the Limerick area, and seized €150,000 along with a large number of documents and other evidence.

The CAB investigation relates to suspected criminal activity by an organised crime gang in Ireland, the UK and Europe.

During the house raids in Rathkeale two men were arrested by local Gardaí for minor public order offences.
