Motion to stop TDs' pay increase defeated in the Dáil

A Sinn Féin motion to stop TDs getting a pay increase has been defeated in the Dáíl.

The Government and Fianna Fáil joined forces to pass a counter-motion instead, by 89 votes to 38.
