Charlotte Connolly is the only person in Ireland to suffer from Systemic Degos disease, and one of less than 50 people in the world living with the disease, writes Claire Anderson.

The life-threatening condition is highly difficult to diagnose as it so rare. Connolly was diagnosed in 2015, after almost two years of extensive tests, by “the wonderful team at St James’ Hospital”.
