Council votes for car ban in heart of Cork city

Private cars could be banned from Cork City’s main street by the end of next year after contentious traffic plans were approved last night writes Eoin English.

City councillors voted to proceed with the first two stages of the revised City Centre Movement Strategy — one of the biggest overhauls of traffic flow in the city in 50 years.
