The late Detective Adrian Donohoe is to be posthumously honoured by Gardaí.

He was gunned down outside the Lordship Credit Union in County Louth on January 25, 2013.

The Garda Commissioner and Minister for Justice will attend the ceremony where Detective Donohoe will posthumously be awarded the Gold Scott Medal for his exceptional courage and bravery.

The medal is the highest honour bestowed by the force.
