Tubs of one of Ben and Jerry's best-known ice creams have been recalled over fears they may contain small pieces of metal.

Anyone who bought a Cookie Dough carton is being told to check batch numbers and avoid eating it.

An "important safety notice" has been issued after the company learnt that a small number of products could be affected.

Four different batch codes - on sale here and in the UK - are affected.

The batch codes affected are L62110L011, L62111L011, L62112L011 and L62113L01

Customers can contact Unilever Customer Careline on 1800 946272.

No other Ben & Jerry’s products are known to be affected.
