Trustees at the seminary in Maynooth are to conduct a review into the use by trainee priests of the internet and social media as part of efforts to limit “any sort of behaviour or attitude which contradicts the teaching and example of Jesus Christ” writes Noel Baker.

The review and evaluation of social media use by seminarians comes after Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin said he would not be sending any of his trainee priests to study in Maynooth this autumn amid reports some students were using the gay dating app Grindr.
