Gardaí confirm Cork restaurant fire started in 'suspicious circumstances'

Gardaí in Cork are appealing for information about the fire at the N Square Steakhouse & Seafood Restaurant in Cork city on Wednesday, June 8.

Fire fighters were called to the scene on Camden Quay at around 5.30pm that morning and evacuated around 100 people from adjoining apartments while tackling the blaze.

Forensics carried out a technical examination of the blaze and have confirmed to Gardaí that the fire started in suspicious circumstances.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the area of Camden St or Pine St during the early hours of Wednesday, June 8, to contact them.

They are particularly appealing for footage or images recorded at the scene on mobile phones or other devices.
