The Courtmacsherry RNLI lifeboat has rescued a fishing boat that is in difficulty off the coast of Cork.

The 36 foot vessel was in danger of going onto nearby dangerous rocks at Dunworley Point in West Cork.

The Courtmacsherry Lifeboat, under Second Coxswain Mark Gannon and a crew of six, reached the Red Stricken vessel at 2.28pm and got a tow rope on board the boat.

A local angling boat, the Lady Louise, helped with the rescue.

The vessel, with a crew of two on board, was towed to safety back to Courtmacsherry Pier in sea onditions described as windy with a difficult swell.
