Explosive-making components have been removed from a residential area in north county Dublin.

The army bomb disposal team was deployed following a request from the Gardaí after a suspicious device was found in Donabate.

They arrived on scene at 11.40am and carried out an assessment.

The scene was declared safe two hours later and evidence has been handed over to the Gardaí.
