There are fears that a vote to reduce maximum building heights throughout Dublin would exacerbate the housing crisis.

Dublin Chamber of Commerce says that density and height need to increase if the population is to be accommodated.

The Chamber issued the warning as Dublin City Councillors prepare to meet this week to discuss the latest development plan.

The draft plan recommends a maximum building height of 28 metres for commercial use, which allows for developments of up to seven storeys.
