A 51-year-old man has been arrested over a paramilitary-style shooting in Belfast.

A 51-year-old man has been arrested over a paramilitary-style shooting in Belfast.

The victim was shot a number of times in an alleyway in the north of the city on May 9.

Detective Inspector Nigel Snoddy said: "A man in his 20s sustained a number of gunshot wounds in the attack which took place in an alleyway between Sheridan Street and Donore Court in the early hours of the morning."

Police arrested the man in the greater Belfast area on Thursday evening. He is currently in custody.
