Man dies in workplace accident

A 45-year-old man has died in a workplace accident in Co Wexford.

It is understood he was driving a digger at a quarry in the Caseys Concrete facility in Gorey when the incident occurred at around 3.10pm.

He is believed to be a local man and pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s body has been removed to University Hospital Waterford.

The scene has been preserved and will be examined by Health and Safety Authority inspectors tomorrow.

The Gardaí and the HSA have launched investigations.
