Nearly 500 waiting on hospital beds today

There are almost 500 people waiting for hospital beds today.

The majority are waiting on trolleys, with a total of 381 waiting for them at present.

The worst overcrowding today is at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore, where there are 43 people waiting for beds.

University Hospital Limerick has 38 and Beaumont in Dublin has 35 of the 496 people countrywide seeking a hospital bed.
