Over 550 people waiting on a hospital bed today

There has been a rise of almost 33% in the number of patients waiting for hospital beds today.

There are 554 people waiting, up from 419 yesterday.

432 of those waiting for admission are currently on trolleys according to the INMO.

Beaumont and St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin have 50 patients each waiting for beds, while University Hospital Galway has a total of 42.
