Air support unit aided search of four men suspected of burglaries in Monaghan

Four men have been arrested in connection with a spate of burglaries in Monaghan Town.

The men, in their late teens and early twenties, were spotted exiting a house in the Rope Walk area of the town last night.

They fled the scene and a search operation was put into action, involving local officers and the air support unit.

They were arrested a short time later and taken to Monaghan Garda Station where they are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
