Dublin store Boyers to close with the loss of 83 jobs

Dublin department store Boyers is to close its doors today after over 100 years of trading.

In September staff were told the business would close after an orderly wind-down - with the loss of 83 jobs - employed either directly or in concessions.

It is the second iconic department shop to cease trading in less than 12 months on North Earl Street in the capital.

Clerys shut down last June with the loss of 460 jobs.

Once Boyers is closed, its owners, Fitzwilliam Financing Partners will look to sell the property.
