Storm Gertrude brings strong gusts of up to 100km/h

Storm Gertrude is still affecting parts of the North and North West with a yellow wind warning in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.

Winds are expected to gust up to around 100 kilometres per hour.

Meanwhile, 2,000 properties around the country remain without power this evening.

Services were knocked out overnight and it's expected to be 9pm before supply is fully restored.

Crews have been working throughout today, a total of 10,000 premises were without power first thing this morning.
