Howlin rules out using Lowry to help form next Government

Brendan Howlin has said the Labour Party will not depend on Michael Lowry to prop up a Government.

The party is deeply concerned about the possibility of having to do a deal with Independents to return to power.

The Taoiseach refused to rule out a deal with Michael Lowry if Fine Gael needs to make up the numbers.

However, Minister Howlin has said they will not depend on the likes of Lowry.

“The leader of the Labour Party, the deputy leader of the Labour Party, every member who have already censured Michael Lowry have made it clear that we will no be dependant on him for support,” said Howlin.

“It’s not a matter of picking and choosing, our objective is to get the current Government re-elected.”
