A man has been charged with attempted murder after shots were fired at a police car in north Belfast.

A man has been charged with attempted murder after shots were fired at a police car in north Belfast.

It happened in Heath Lodge Close in the city. No officers were injured.

The suspect, 46, is also accused of a firearms offence, making threats to kill and criminal damage following the Christmas Day incident, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
