Teenager charged with manslaughter in Castlebar

A teenager arrested in connection with a fatal assault in Claremorris yesterday has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the incident.

He appeared at a special sitting of Castlebar District Court this afternoon.

A 17-year-old died following an attack at Claremont Manor, Knock Road in Claremorris in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The youth who cannot be named for legal reasons was arrested at the scene and has been released on bail pending a second court appearance on Tuesday.
