A man in his 80s has died in a house fire in Co Donegal.

A man in his 80s has died in a house fire in Co Donegal.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Dungloe at around 2.30am today.

He was the sole occupant of the house on Pole Road, Meenmore, in Dungloe.

They found the man inside the house, and carried out CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out.

Gardaí say the scene has been preserved for a full technical examination, but it's not believed the fire was suspicious.
