Govt to overhaul ethics body as Donegal councillor John O'Donnell considers action against RTÉ

The state body responsible for political ethics is to face a major overhaul, under new laws to be brought to Cabinet next week.

A new Public Service Standards Commission will be created, with tougher standards for public office holders and the right to start inquiries without a public complaint first.
