Gardaí have launched an appeal for information on a hit and run incident which has left a teenage girl with a broken pelvis.

Gardaí have launched an appeal for information on a hit and run incident which has left a teenage girl with a broken pelvis.

The incident occurred in Carrickmines on the Glenamuck road on Monday night.

The 16-year-old was crossing the road when she was struck by a silver or grey 04 LH registration Jeep.

The driver who has a brightly coloured neck tattoo stopped and got out of the vehicle briefly and spoke to the girl before getting back in and driving off towards Cornelscourt.

The driver or anyone with information are being urged to contact Gardaí.
