Man due in court in connection with dissident republican activity

A man is due before the Special Criminal Court this afternoon in connection with dissident republican activity.

The 54-year-old was arrested yesterday as part of an on-going operation targeting the Dublin and Midlands region.

He is due before the Special Criminal Court at 3pm this afternoon.

The man was being detained at Portlaoise Garda Station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
