'Ireland's threat level remains low' says Minister for Foreign Affairs
The Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan has said Ireland's threat level remains low, following last night's terror attacks in Paris.
Charlie Flanagan has offered his condolences to those who lost their lives and were injured in the atrocities overnight.
The Irish Embassy in Paris is providing consular assistance to one injured citizen in the attacks overnight and at this stage there are no reports of any further Irish people involved.
Minister Flanagan is urging Irish citizens in France to exercise extreme caution.
“We always have a concern here at Irish ports at Irish airports, on the ground in Ireland, I understand that members of the Garda Síochana have been in contact with their French counterparts," Mr Flanagan said.
“Ireland is a low threat country, we understand, but we are in constant contact with our European partners, our European colleagues and I would ask people to exercise caution at all times."
