Viable explosive device found in Sallynoggin
The Army Bomb Disposal team has said an explosive device found in Sallynoggin, Dublin late last night was viable.
The GardaĂ called in the army after a suspect package was found on the road outside a home in the South Dublin suburb.
The device was described as an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
Neighbouring houses were evacuated and the area was cordoned off, but the scene was declared safe in the early hours of this morning.
The bomb parts are being handed over to detectives to help with their investigation.
