Bank of Ireland customers complain accounts still not working

Some Bank Of Ireland customers are still out-of-pocket despite BOI declaring the technical glitch affecting accounts fixed since Friday.

A number of customers have tweeted the bank in order to find out when the issue will be resolved and have all been told they will receive a DM in their inbox regarding the issue.

One customer, who is starting a new job this week, has rang the company four times since Friday, when the glitch was supposed to have been sorted and has received little helpful information on each call.

“I called Friday and I was told my account would be up and running by that evening, when I called Saturday morning they told me it would be Sat evening, when I called Saturday evening they said it might by Sunday and when I called today, they said they had no idea when it would be fixed.

“They said they had people working through the night trying to solve the issue.”

“They offered me to credit me €100 emergency fund, but my rent and insurance both go out tomorrow and a €100 means nothing to me, it is just not good enough,” the customer fumed.

Bank Of Ireland have issued a statement clarifying the technical issue has been resolved and they have been dealing with a small number of individuals over the weekend.

"Bank of Ireland confirms that payment processing is up to date and that all services are operating normally.

"Our customer services channels are open as normal, and any customer with a query on their account can contact a customer service representative from 9am – 6pm today.

"We have been working with a small number of customers directly over the weekend in relation to specific payment queries."
