Fianna Fáil faces internal resistance over gender quotas

A Fianna Fáil frontbencher has said the party is facing internal 'resistance' to meeting gender quotas.

Public Expenditure Spokesperson Sean Fleming was speaking after he chaired last night’s selection convention in Longford, during which dozens of members walked out after Connie Gerety-Quinn was added to the general election ticket because of a gender directive issued by party HQ.
