A cyclist has died in a road accident in Co Donegal this morning.

A cyclist has died in a road accident in Co Donegal this morning.

The accident happened at 9.15am at Moneydarragh, Gleneely, Co Donegal on the Redcastle to Gleneely road.

A cyclist, aged in his 40s, and a van were in collision. The cyclist was fatally injured in the crash.

A second cyclist injured in the incident was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the van was not injured.

The road at the scene remains closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
