Playing video games is more harmful to a child's education than social media, according to researchers.

A study of almost 1,000 14- to 16 year-olds in Northern Ireland found only four in 10 children, or 40% of those who gamed twice a day achieved five good GCSE grades, compared to 77% of those who played rarely.
