Man charged in connection with Kildare drugs seizure

Gardaí have charged a 43-year-old man in connection with the seizure of cannabis plants and herb with an estimated value of €700,000.

He is due to appear before Naas District Court this morning at 10.30am.

The drugs seizure occurred at Ard Scoil, Athy, Co Kildare on Monday night, following the planned search of a premises by gardaí.

The man was arrested in the Athy area yesterday morning and was detained at Kildare Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He remains in Garda custody.
