Fire closes Port Tunnel, heavy goods vehicles allowed into Dublin city centre
The Port Tunnel in Dublin is closed in both directions because of a vehicle fire.
One man has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
Emergency services are at the scene since 7am and there are significant delays to traffic.
The blaze on a heavy goods vehicle has been brought under control but the tunnel remains closed.
The five-axle ban on trucks in the city centre has been temporarily lifted to help ease traffic, meaning heavy goods vehicles are cleared to travel through the city until the tunnel reopens.
Buses operating through Drumcondra and the Malahide Road are experiencing delays.
