Bobby Storey plans to take legal action against the PSNI

Sinn Fein's Northern Chairman has criticised his arrest by the PSNI.

Bobby Storey was taken into custody and later released without charge in connection with the investigation into the murder of Kevin McGuigan.

Bobby Storey was questioned along with two other republicans by police investigating what they think was an IRA sanctioned murder.

The senior Sinn Fein member criticised the timing and political circumstances of his arrest.

Mr Storey plans to take legal action against the Chief Constable of the PSNI, as he says there was no basis for his arrest.

Bobby Storey also criticised the media's coverage of his arrest: "My party and I have been subjected to trial by media, by actions of the media, the persumption of innocence, we're sad to say, and accusations and alegations against me were carried on the media as if they were fact."
