Labour party Senator Lorraine Higgins has said that she will not be bullied out of politics, despite receiving further death threats.
She said that an email received at her office contains a series of violent threats and the sender said that he plans to shoot her.
It is the latest in a series of threats received by the Senator.
She has passed on the details to the Gardaí - and is determined to continue her work.
"I don't think it's right to let bullies win and I certainly will not succumb to them," said Senator White.
"Politics is something that I decided to get into a number of years ago, what happened with the economy and seeing how my friends were impacted by the decisions that had been made by a previous generation of politicians, and I suppose my thirst for doing something good is still there, and I certainly will be contesting the next election," she said.
