Man detained after driving car at Garda station in Monaghan

A man has been arrested after a car was driven at a Garda station in Co. Monaghan.

A car was driven into the front of Monaghan Garda station and set on fire, just before 7pm this evening.

No one suffered any injuries, but the building suffered smoke damage in the incident.

The man, who is in his early 40's, was arrested at the scene and is being held at Carrickmacross Garda Station where he can questioned for up to 24 hours.
