Man rushed to hospital after Ballina stabbing

A man is in hospital in Mayo after an overnight stabbing in Ballina.

Gardaí were called to a house in Tom Clarke Place in the town after 4 am, and found the victim inside.

The man, who is aged in his 50s, was rushed to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar for treatment and surgery.
