Mary Keane, wife of John B Keane, passes away

Mary Keane the wife of famous playwright John B Keane has passed away.

Mary, who is often credited as her husband's greatest source of inspiration, died this morning.

In recent years she had spearheaded a number of theatre productions around the country.

She is survived by her daughter Joanna and sons Billy Conor and John. Minister Jimmy Deenihan has led tributes to her.
