HSE promises to fix Aras Attracta issues

The HSE has said it is working to rectify issues at Aras Attracta care home in Swinford, Co Mayo.

HIQA has issued a notice of a proposal to cancel registration for centre 2 at the facility, which caters for people with challenging behaviour.

A statement from the HSE this evening says it is disappointed at the notice considering the significant work and programme of change underway.

It also remains strongly committed to addressing issues raised - particularly in relation to staffing and governance.

The HSE has 28 days to respond to the notice.
