Minister to unveil new Domestic Violence Bill

New proposed laws aimed at helping victims of domestic violence will be unveiled today.

They would give judges the power to order an offender not to communicate with their victim electronically, and would make it easier for emergency barring orders to be granted to get someone out of the family home.

Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald will release details of the Domestic Violence Bill later.
