Barry Davis Ryan to be laid to rest in west Cork

The community of Baltimore west Cork will gather to pay their final respects to Barry Davis Ryan today.

His funeral follows an 11-day search for the 20-year-old's remains. His body was found on Friday.

Barry lost his life alongside his father and girlfriend Niamh O'Connor when they were washed out to sea.

His father - also Barry - was originally from Dublin but moved to Cork many years ago and his children grew up there.

The Ryan family have thanked all those who defied stormy conditions to join the search.
